Pretty sure. Do some searching man, a lot of this is allready answered here, how do you think I know?

LOL

The beta 1 and 2 differences are...

1. Head is a bit different, the 2.5 has the CVVT too.

2. Different sensors, but swappable.

3. Different harness for the engine bay.

4. Different IM, Fuel Rail, Injectors.

5. Different TB.

6. Beta 2 is MAP, Beta 1 is MAF.

That's about it.

beta II pistons have a slightly higher compression...

I had beta II pistons on a beta I block.. bust fvcken engine EVAH!

Wiseco pistons will fit all 2.0L betas from 97-03.

Keep in mind, wiseco only sells .20 or .40 over.. so your going to have to take the block to a machine shop.

Unless you get a "custom" stock replacement set.

Also to add to redzmans list
* Oil pressure regulator are in different places
* different power steering belts
* different water pumps (old ones are made out of metal)
* Water temp gauge sensor and water temp ECU sensor are combined in the beta II
* Oil pan is very different
* coil packs
* Cams are different..
* alternators are weaker in the beta IIs 85 vs 90

thats all i can think of right now.. do a search and youll find more.

The piston design is completely different. I noticed the skirts were designed better in the Beta II's.
