not for much longer.
KORE is finishing up work on their own turbo kit, pricing is expected to be about $2600 (but dont quote me on that). When the kit will be done, we're not quite sure. However, I'm confident it will be a decent kit when it arrives. smile.gif

No, I'm not "all knowing", far from it.dont take stuff here personal, especially comming from Random. this is his site, his forums. after youve been here a while youll see that all the new ppl basicly post the same question(s). when if they searched no one would have to answer them. hes just old-n-grouchy. but DAMN is he all knowing :p
The forum's are owned by Shark Racing, I am simply the Forum Administrator. Generally, I am not a grouchy person, however, I have become rather grouchy since breaking 2 teeth and waiting for the DDS to pull them. My apologies to anyone/everyone if I have offended. I'm not exactly my normal 'self'.

Random,
Firstly we do replace the MAf sensor (useless antiquated excuse for air and pressure control) for a MOTEC M4 CLUBMAN complete ECU with 2.5bar MAP sesnor - therefore NO tuning any MAF is necessary or required at all.
Also removing the MAF sensor IS SIMPLE, to remove it is a matter of two clamp screws and one electrical connector, to replace it, is one screw mounting a MAP sensor supplied by us. ...ummmm voila.....
The status of the kit can be seen on the other forums, but I will inform you once again here.
I would like to mention that the ECU has changed so many times because of YOUR (your - being public) demands and comments! Remember we built this kit according to YOUR requirements and suggestions... with that in mind, we do NOT build poor quality and untested products or solutions, so if you not happy waiting so long, then please go ahead and spend your dollars elsewhere. We will not rush into anything and burn our fingers.
Hope that clears that up.
I'm interested in how two IDENTICAL engines with the exact same components (I assume they run the same components) installed will make much more power than the other one simply based on a different country (assuming that both countries climates are similar) ??? Please clarify this.
Ketchup if tucan - if only 150hp increase is all you are after (asuuming this is total power) then keeping your engine normally aspirated will easily achieve this. Butif youare looking for 100 - 150HP more ontop of your existing power, then I would suggest a turbo upgrade or supercharger upgrade or a NOS upgrade (not 150HP though) or a combination of S/C and NOS or T/C and NOS. Your preferrence.
Skierd - Please confirm whether or not KORE are manufacturing their own turbo kit? I see now information on their web site?

That is a difficult step to reach, but if i had to pick 5 "most knowing" people, you would be on that list buddy tongue.gif QUOTE

Can you please define "simple" for us? As i recall, you were the one that stated that assembling a turbo kit would be "simple." Upgrading engine internals would be "simple."

Jon has the alpine kit in the UK, and dyno'd out at above 200 HP without the Unichip, without the 5th injecter and with a stock exhaust system... With the same turbo kit, running the same pressure, With a full exhaust and the unichip and 5th injector...my dyno was 169 HP.I'm interested in how two IDENTICAL engines with the exact same components (I assume they run the same components) installed will make much more power than the other one simply based on a different country (assuming that both countries climates are similar) ??? Yamanako managed a measly 148 HP with the supercharger....Zorro manged almost 200 with the SC.
So yes...there appears to be a VERY large discrepency between what kits dyno out for overseas vs what kits dyno out at within the USA.

Thanks Redzman -
Random, I said with the SAME components, and the UK has different climate to the USA - much colder - perfect for a turbocharged application.
I mean one runs the unichip - the other doesn't and then the other has a different exhaust system ... Come on, obviously these cars will be different readings! I mean My Tiburon made an extra 17KW just by chaging the exhaust system from 57mm to 76mm.
In my personal experience, the Unichip is OVERFUELING the engine and there is not need for it, not for the low boost that Alpine sets the system up with and it is mainly a safety factor to prevent any failures - thats my opinion.
