Sorry, this may be the crappiest thread I've made. I know that this has already been asked, but I could not find the info. I already tried searching, but to no avail. So please help me.

Im interested in this too from what i have read though you will need besides requirments for turbo (that would be turbo waste gate, blow off valve, intercooler, all piping including hoses for oil/water, turbo manifold, full exo. system,) things that need to be done are pistons rings possibly rods(should be done) fuel pump injectors (what size i dont know any suggestions?)upgraded clutch or modified some sort of fuel air management (suggestions? will sfac work?)im not sure about axles, trany (manual, auto is good for mabey 200 or so what is manual good too?) cooling system for precautions (im sure a set of good fans would do the trick) boost control (i belive a hks would do nicely) timing control (dose msd make a boost controled timing for our cars?) and im sure there is a lot of little things fittings gaskets ect... that add up in the end so hope this helps

A limited slip differental would be reccomended
Axles are still sort of a question mark
The tranny should be okay, just beware of 5th gear and high power.

At "only" 300 wheel horsepower, you can skip the rods. I know that Onpol is using the stock rods on his setup, and I know Cheuk has mentioned that nobody has really broken one over in Korea either.

They generally swap them out if they're looking for more than 350+, but I know that Onpol had at least one dyno of 350+ on the stockers and isn't seeming to have problems.

I would expect the total pricetag to be around $5000-6000 USD, but you could knock a lot of that down by choosing parts carefully.

You could get a straight T04B turbo in a 0.57A/R for $450 rebuilt, which would be enough for 300whp surely. Pick up an intercooler off ebay for a hundred or two, piping from JC Whitney (2 inch mandrel bends and straight sections) for cheap...

Pick up a set of 370cc or 440cc injectors, an adjustable boost-dependant rising rate FPR, a static pressure regulator, a GOOD fuel pump and an S-AFC and you MIGHT be able to squeeze that kind of power out of the stock ECU with some luck and fuel pressure tweakage under boost.

Your choice of pistons is pretty limited at 300whp -- you're basically required to go forged at that power level, so the daily drivability goes down. Forged pistons take several minutes to warm up before you can drive the car -- it sounds like a diesel when it's cold.

Really, your biggest concern is the differential and the stock computer. 300whp and a good launch on even street tires would be enough to break the diff. And the stock computer is really out of it's league at 300whp -- 230-250 is probably the upper limit of what I would even consider using it for.

Figure that an S-AFC and MSD DIS2 unit with the boost timing module is gonna run you $700+ just for those two, and you might as well spend the extra few hundred and pick up a full standalone SDS, Tec 2, Haltech E6K or something similar.

Maybe AEM could use your car for a prototype to make one of those fancy AEM plug-n-play standalones smile.gif

It's my understanding that the Ross Forged pistions don't fit the stock rods.

How could Onpol be using forged pistions on stock rods? For that matter how could anyone use forged pistions with stock rods?

You recondition the small end and replace the bushing. It's not too difficult...

All that's really necessary is to bring the new piston pins to a machine shop, along with your stock rods. Show them what needs to happen, tell them that the pins are supposed to be full floating style, and they should be able to take care of it.

You essentially recondition that small end, put a new brass bushing in and go about your life smile.gif

Ah...okay...Maybe I should have clarified.

Without modification, the ross pistions do not fit the stock rods. With modification, they can be MADE to work.
