Hey guys, I have an opportunity to get a turbo manifold from someone for pretty cheap but he doesnt know what flange it is... he only said that it has a 40 mm waste gate and that he knows a turbo from a Thunderbird would fit it... so does anyone know what turbo a thunderbird uses and what flange it has?? Thanks

EDIT** according to this ebay auction the thunderbird turbos were t3?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

can anyone confirm this? Also, that turbos pretty cheap... how crappy you think it is?? cool.gif

The flange looks like a 2-bolt to me.

zoned- where the manifold bolts to the turbo isnt the same on every manifold and likewise, turbo. They have different flange styles for different turbos. The two bolt pattern you can see on that turbo isnt even the exhaust side; were talkin bout a different part

if the turbo is exactly like the one on e-bay then it's a t3
60 cold side and 48 or 63 hot side (depending if it was from a manuel or auto trans car)

Buy the manifold, purchase a brand new turbo instead.

when I was shopping around for my turbo.
I previously bought secondhand and had to sell it because it was worn out with too much movement on the wheels.

Unless you can inspect the turbo in person and check the condition.

If I remember correctly, not all the T-birds had T3's.
