Default What about superchargers???

HEY I heard that SR is gonna bring up a supercharger for tibs..
Can somebody tell me if thats gonna be a bolt/on mod? Also how much is it gonna cost about?Furthermore if anybody like Xorro i think, can
tell us how it works on our betas and how many ponies smile.gif will it produce itd be great.
Finally from what i heard Supercharger is very reliable with no boost problems etc etc.And it feels like you are driving a 5.0ltrs car.. eek!
Is that correct??Does it need intercooler??
And what about if it gets damaged somehow???Will Sharkracing be able to supply us with parts????
Thanks LFF your answer esp.from supercharged tbs if there are any.....

the SR supercharger is for the V6 Tiburon, not the I4.

Xorro is putting down 171 HP to the wheels AFTER the unichip retune. She was making 152 HP to the wheels with her previous mods. (I have no seen a dyno for either)

My Supercharged Elantra (Yamaneko's old car) is putting down 148 HP to the wheels without the unichip being retuned. He was making 128 hp to the wheels before being retuned. (I have seen both dynos)

I do have the dyno graphs, but I don't have access to a scanner.

Don't forget that I have a shed load of other performance mods.

The s/c wasn't exactly a bolt-on...it bolted on, then needed a lot of time and money spending on it to get it running correctly.

Hang On Random!! YOUR s/c Elantra - yams OLD car - whats going on? eek!

Has anyone tried to mix a Supercharger with a Wet NOS like kit? Any stories?

NOS would work really well with a s/c, the cooling effect of the NOS would be most beneficial, I don't know of anyone that has done this though.

Um, how would you intercool an S/C? Doesen't it force air DIRECTLY into the throttle body/plenum?

Uhhh Jed, some pretty crazy plumbing is gonna have to be done if the supercharger isn't designed to be intercooled in the first place, what was written is that N20 has a cooling effect: the system either taps into your intake runners or you'll have to get special injectors which will actually atomize the fuel and N20 at the same time, minimizing power loss because of uneven atomization. The cooling effect refferred to is at the valves, and in the combustion chamber. N20 halps to keep cylinder temeperatures down. How this works is that when stored, the N20 is compressed so much it is actually in liquid state. When you hit the button, and it gets flowing, it expands and atomizes, effectively chilling the intake charge because this reaction results in heat absorbtion. It also increases the oxygen desnity of the intake charge.

And if your engine wasn't built to handle a big shot...engine go BOOOOOM!!!!!!

Hope this helps man, and be careful with the NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWZ...

Hmm, the S/C i'm gonna attach to the V6 4.3 Doesen't look like it can be intercooled... it comes with it's own manifold and sits right on top o' da carb(s)!
