Weird Problems..

Well, ever since I got my turbo installed, the car will not go over 3500 rpms. Sometimes itll go to 4 but not past that. Its like I am driving getting up to speed and at that rpm it feels like the fuel cuts off..and I have to let go of the throttle. I got my fuel pump changed and the bov is working fine now so Im totally stumped. My boyfriends car doesnt do that at all and his is not tuned yet either.

Another thing is that when I start my car, it stays on for a second and dies, I start it again and it dies, I start it for a third time and hold the throttle for a couple seconds and then the car stays on and idles ok. If the car sits outside for either a day or a couple hours and I let it idle theres tons of white smoke coming from my exhaust and it smells like fuel..its just an insane amount, but after a couple minutes it goes away. Then, when I am at a stop and am about to make a turn theres no power and Im turning super slow and then all of a sudden this big surge of power comes..like I just mashed the gas pedal. If I drive and suddenly stop the car idles really low and sometimes even stalls. Turning from a stop is just the worst because if I dont turn fast enough I stall. Sometimes the car revs up and down as if there were a vacuum leak, but I checked all the lines and they all seem ok. My boyfriend thinks this might be a bad o2 sensor and I think so too, but I havent gotten the cel checked yet so I dont know.

Any ideas?

could be throttle position sensor, spark plugs fouled, a number of things.. if you have a CEL, most places like o'rileys and autozone will check it for free.

How much boost are you running?

I'd almost think that it's a problem with vaccum lines collapsing under top boost.

5 pounds i think i saw in a post. if the fuel is cutting out thats not good. you have an a/f gauge right? what does that say when you have problems? it wont be as accurate cuz you dont have a wideband but you still would see a problem. get that cel checked. sounds like the o2 sensor is not working and not giving it the right fuel

I didn't even see your comment about the CEL.

Just drive slowly over to a Autozone or whatever and get that Bish scanned RIGHT NOW.

I went to Autozone and the first guy that checked my car got four codes and was just shaking his head while looking at them so I was like damn. Then I found out he read them wrong so another guy came and told me it was the oxygen sensors and the tps sensor. He said most likely whats causing my problems is the tps..so I ordered that bish and ordered an o2 sensor..hopefully when I get those two done itll solve the problem..hopefully.

But I still dont know whats causing the fuel cut off at 3500 rpm.....

Check all your couplers all over your turbo system, massive air leaks can cause problems you described. And change the sensors that threw codes.

she didnt mention that were going to put a new O2 sensor and tps in there, tomarrow if she decides to be puctual, and if that didnt work then we would move to new things, my car ran the same way when my 02 sensor wasnt in, ive driven both and it drove EXACTLY the same, so my money is on the o2 sensor, but the tps wont hurt ;-)

Crappy thing is if its either the tps or the 02 we might not know exactly what the problem was if i install them at the same time, maybe ill just install them one at a time to see whos right :-D

Oh and i dont know about the air leak thing, because to get my dumptube and intake modified i had to drive with my MAF sensor disconnected, and it drove fine. OH and before boost my CAI fell off at the TB and it drove fine, i just noticed a response and power decline.

If you lose couplers, especially before the intercooler, the engine can't draw air through the intercooler and all that tubing very well, causing loss of power and hesitation.

What i said was my experiances that were unrelated to selinas, it didnt feel anything like selinas problem. If i didnt know my car so well, i might have not even noticed. AND this isnt "hesitation" that swift tib is experiancing, its a wall. Best way to describe it. No higher, no sluggish acceleration, just a wall. the only way it gets faster is by shifting under the "wall". Dont worry any way, its not her couplers or a leak ive checked them.
