Wanting to run 10-12 sec 1/4's what to do ?
i have a stock 01 tiburon right now and im planning on doing alot to it. i want to get a turbo kit and other mods. i want to be able to run 10-12 sec 1/4's eventaully. I was lookin at the extreme turbo kit on speed-factor.com and i talked to tim. Is this turbo big enough to give me what i want or do i need somting else? Also my friend is goign 2 be getting the disco potato ... how does this turbo compare to that?
Your gonna need a bigger turbo to hit 10's and 11's, unless you use Nitrous w/ direct port fogger system.. Youll need to go standalone, and youll need major headwork, along w/ stronger rods.. And youll need a stage 2 or 3 clutch Id guess, and a LSD.. Alls Ive got to say is $$$$$$$$$

Saying that you want something in between 10-12 shows that you don't understand the enourmous gap between those figures. Some people spends a year and 7-8000$ to go from 11.2 to 10.9 sec. :roll:

To hit the 12's, you don't need too much. Probably $5k at most with a pretty standard turbo kit. A t3/t4 should do just fine. You could almost do it on the stock pistons but you should change them anyways if you want low 12's to 11's.
For 10's, you're gonna need to change your rods, pistons, dif, axles, and probably more. Not to mention a cage that is required at most if not all tracks. You'll end up spending a minimum of $10k, but to have a 10sec Tib makes it worth it. 8)

^^ Jon? You do realize, that with the stock interior plus, say, 175lb driver, the car is above 2800 lbs? If you had around 290hp to the wheels, and could put most off of it down w/ no wheel spin, your gonna be lucky to be low 12's.. 290hp is gonna cost a little more than $5k.. Then to gain that extra second or two, your looking at alot of internal stuff.. To put down that 300hp, you WILL need axles, LSD, new clutch, unless you want to only go a pass or two.. You will also need ported head/intake w/ lower comp pistons.. 2.0 pistons can only handle around 210 hp, your not hitting 13's with 210 hp ;/

well my first goal is a turbo. i was thinking about the T3/T4E turbo but how does that compair to other turbo's like the Gt25/40 , GT30R , GT2871R and the GT 35/40 ???? Im lookin to spend about 3,000 on a turbo kit. and like i said when im done with this car i want to run somewhere in the 10-12 range but if i can i would love to run high tens low 13's after my turbo kit... which turbo will help me do this the best? thanks

that wont even get you 14's in our car
Dweet, right up a topic for the newbie section about how a 14 second street car ISNT slow laugh.gif People just dont understand the horsepower, tranny, and tire need to break into the 13's and lower..
i didn't say i knew alot.... thats why i have questions... im trying to figure out what would be the best for me. ok look say i have 3,000 to spend what turbo would you guys go with???
