hasnt been done. not realyl worth it either, thats alot more weight over the front end which will result in crappier handling. if your die hard wanting a motor swap, the mitsu 4G63 swap is probably the easiest most powerful swap. but even that isnt close to a drop in. or is it easy finding the 4G63 that you would need to install in the tib.

A 12v (174hp) or 24V (200hp) VR swap into a Tib would be monstrous. I'd get the 6 speed.

I can barely get traction in 2nd gear on stock tires. I only have a short ram intake and it runs like a scared cat. My Jetta weighs just over 3100 lbs. I'm sure the Tib is lighter.

I'll get pics of the engine bay later.

i know it hasnt been done, and i know what has been done... ive looked rolleyes.gif

at this point im just looking for dimentions to see if it will even close to fit... and yes im to lazy to go take measurements of my tib nana.gif

suspension would have to be redone anyway wouldnt it?

if the 12&24 valve are the same size y not the 24

i know it would be a huge job to...(my grandfather vollenteered to help, he builds and races dragsters)
i would be doing it as an engine build project at first. once i figure out if its even possible ill look for a vr6 from a junkyard, and rebuild it. basicly just a side project, then figure out wtf to do to get it in the tibby rolleyes.gif

depending on size of the vr6, your suspension should be fine, custom axles will need to be specially made though. but thats the last of your worries......

That's gonna be a helluva project. Lots of fab work, BUT the engine and transmission are on the same side of the bay. The VR uses weird lookin' motor mounts and the stock ones aren't fit for high torque. I'd do some research on performance mounts from VF Engineering.

About the 12/24 debate. I have the 24 but there is a hell of a lot more of a market for the 12.

Schrick cams make a great set of liftsticks for the VR.

There are turbo kits for the VR series as well. It's easy to turbo since these V6's only have one head meaning the intake is on one side the exhaust is on the other.
