hey guys,
I'm pretty much finally wrapping up the turbo install (pics coming soon) and I need a bit of help. I'm a bit confused as to where to connect the nozzle attached to the compressor outlet of the turbo. I have 2 outlets on the wastegate itself, so does the nozzle on the compressor need to be attached to one of them? Here's a picture if it'll help:

I think I pretty much understand the rest of the vacuum layout for a basic turbo setup, but where does the extra nozzle go if this isn't the case?

Thanks again! fing02.gif

good old chineese replica turbo....

hook up the port from the compressor outlet to the nipple toward the turbine side of the turbo and leave the other one open

btw hook up the BOV to the intake manifold

sometime used for boost control in a fancier way

for his case, the simplier the better, go for the inner nipple

hahaha yeah we'll see how long it lasts. I'm not too worried since the tib isn't really my dd anymore.

When you say leave the other one open, do you mean with no hose on the end? Cause the way I have it, it's hooked up the my MBC kinda like in the diagram. And I do have my BOV hooked up to the intake manifold, but is there a problem with having the other port on the MBC teed into the same line (like in the illustration)?

Thanks Denis

would leaving the hose off of that nipple cause a leak or something?

There is a diaphram in between the two ports on the wastegate actuator, a spring holds that closed and when boost pressure rises to that spring pressure at the port toward the turbine, it crushes the spring and opens the gate flap.

When the top port is left open, it references atmospheric pressure, by increasing the pressure at the top port, more boost is required to open the gate.

That is used for higher boost pressures I believe.

The most common way to up the boost higher than the spring pressure in the gate actuator is to place the MBC valve in between the line from the compressor outlet to the actuator and bleed some of the pressure off to the atmosphere.
