Hey Turbo Gurus. Or anyone who knows about turbos.
I was offered this by a friend.
Its a Turbonetics T3/T4 .63 A/R.
Hes selling it for 400. He offered it to me for 325.
I know it may be a bit small to you. But really an ideal turbo for me is something with low inertia, good response and can hit some higher numbers in lower rpms. I want fast acceleration rather than powerful top end. So I was looking at T3/T4 turbos.
Let me know what you guys think. Is 325 a good price for it? Its never been installed and has just been laying around for about a year and a half. He bought it brand new. Thanks

"SMALL"...??? Not sure where you say it is small, that turbo is comparable to a GT30 by Garrett. That is no "SMALL" Turbo. It is not huge but it is probably going to be bigiger than you will ever need. Also with our cars i would run nothing bigger than a .48 A.R on the hot side, it will spool really late and wont make much of a fun car unless your on the interstaten As more than likely you wont make full spool untill really really late in the REV'S in first and second.
The Turbo I found to be best suited for a amazing street car and still Rape all your friends at the track and pull like a mother f*cker till 7k, is... Garrett 57Trim T3/T4 .48AR. it has a good CFM and will make upwards of 500WHP, if you want!!! Check it out, also these you can find RE-MANUFACTURED from a vendor, TURBOSOCKS!! I want to say your in the 500Ish range with a New Reman from him. Check his site out, hope this help, Also the only guy here i know running a .63 Ar is TibbyTurbo, i am sure you can add him as a friend and he will tell you how much he hates the change! He did run a .48 Ar before... So he knows the difference!

the turbo i had on my tib was a .63 a/r hotside, although it was a T3 not a T3/T4. i didn't really notice a long spool time. however, i do agree that a .48 ar housing would be better suited for a hybrid turbo. if you're more concerned about spool up than high end power you might consider a standard T3. better to pick a turbo to match your goals than to pick one because it has blades and spins.

I have used a T3/T04b V-Trim with .63 hot side in my tib before and loved the fact it would not enter boost unless I wanted it to, a .48 is nice and snappy depending on what size compressor its mated to. I liked the way my .63 had a nice gradual onset and could function well at sustained higher RPMs.
