I have been doing a lot of resaerch on this site and all over on turbos and installing them. It doestn seem to hard to set one up. The hardest part seems to be the oil lines coming to and from the turbo. Anyway, im thinking about getting a turbo for my '99 Tiburon. I want to get one off a 96-99 Talon or Eclipse. These seem pretty easy to modify to make them work on a tib. Both being 2.0 liter engines the turbo should work decently. For anyone who has a turbo though, is it worth the time and money for it? Should i just go n/a instead and get a CAI, equal length headers, ect. Im pretty sure I don't want nitrous because i know i would blow my engine with that stuff. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

simply put, yes.

But the oil lines are not the hardest part. It's tuning. imo

^^ Word. Oil lines are actually quite easy LOL.

Its very hard to get a N\A car to run with a turbo properly, especially one with such little aftermarket support as we have.

You said you searched but you're chosing to use DSM components? They're not gonna work as well as buying parts specifically for the Tib.

A turbo is very much worth it. But the problem is that it's not cheap. If you try to cheap out, then you're gonna run into problems and that will make it seem like its not worth it.

yes, theres no better way to see REAL power, N/A is not going to get you far, and if you dont get the right stuff, could even make you slower.

it's worth it.. if:

- you have a nice amount of cash to start of with
- you have "extra" cash set aside after you purchased you parts
- you can set aside tons of time to install, fix, tune, etc
- you have a good knowledge and support (some guys/gals here would be glad assist you) about turbocharging, tuning, etc
- you can afford to have your car down here and there.. if not have a backup/daily car
- if your wife or g/f, parents will let you play around with your car

some of you fellas can add more

for mine, i was only missing the first point lol.gif

it depends what you want to get from a Tibby. How much hp do you want. Maybe for you it will be enough to just put a CAI and headers.
