I'm looking into getting a turbo charger for my tib. eek.gif I was wondering, what is a good one, where is the good place to get one, how much usually, and how hard they are to install. I need more power.

Alpine has one for the Tibby that costs $3000 USD. They also have a Supercharger for $2300 USD. Random has an Alpine Turbo on his Tib so I would recommend talking to him about how hard it is to put it on. I heard that tuning is the hardest part.

*Correction*

Alpine has one for about 1900-2000
The Supercharger is about 100 less each way. If you talk to Rob from HP, he's making a turbo which is better, comes with all the parts, costs less and comes in three stages, and is suppose to be easier to install, and tune. Yes, it's a pain in the ass more then anything, but once your turbo is in, you'll love it.. smile.gif as long as it doesnt kill your engine, then you'll be pissed.

Might I recommend one other place. They are producing more power for equal price. Looks good too. As well the kit is much more upgradable because of the turbo being used.

QUOTE
Pricing is the issue we are busy with at the moment, but we are trying to get together pricing for two or three staged performance kits for Tibby's, ranging from $2300.00 and $2800.00 and $3500.00 for the mild, hybrid and wild choices respectively.
QUOTE
Power output will be from 250HP for the mild upgrade, and 300HP with the Hybrid choice, and then lastly 350HP PLUS on the WILD option. (All these kits will be fully upgradable to the next option for a small fee at any time.)

As of yet there is a web site but not with the Tiburon on it. Simply because they are ironing out the details and preparing it for North America.

One quote I luved from the owner:
QUOTE
Half throttle application is actually more than enough to out accelerate the BMW 330i's and a further slight squeeze of the gas pedal will result in plenty torque steer and BMW M3's being left in the dust!
This I believe is with the a 281hp and 325lbs-ft application on the flywheel.

--Also--

Veilside US is considering producing a kit for the Tiburon. Probally going to be around 350hp. You may have seen their body kit they produced which was an extreme body kit for sale.

The alpine should be considered a "starter" kit and not a complete kit.

The other kits are ??? untill we get full details.

If you have the money now, the apline isn't a bad way to go, but waiting 1-3 months for the other companies to get their product out would not hurt either.

You might get a deal by being the first USA person to install their kit. I got a good deal from Alpine on their kit. $1900 installed and tuned, just because I was the first one.

The kits we'll be selling over HP.Com will be the Ballistic Racing kits.

We're finalizing details now.
