turbo or super charger?
It depends on how much you want to put into as well. Most SC's on the market are pretty much basic with installation. you could do it yourself in a weekend with basic tools, and be out rollin with no problems. SC's don't take alot of tuning to get them running right either.
Now turbo's on the hand can be a b^tch if you've never had any experience with them. There's alot of key components in a turbo system, in order to make it run smoothly and correctly. There's also alot of tuning that involved as well. If you have the knowledge and experience with them, then you should be fine installing and tuning them yourself. Otherwise, be ready to fork out alot of money to have it up and running with no problems.
As far as speed is concerned...nothing can touch the speed/power that some turbo's are able to generate. SC's are pretty much standard and straight forward with the power #'s they put out. With turbo's, your able to change boost settings and get more or less power.
They're both very different..but yet they do have ONE thing in common.......they make your car go really fast!

SC do not need tunning because they run at low boost say 7psi which your regular injection will take care off. Turbo systems target higher boost and HP and therefore tunning and additional injection is required. SC dont come cheap either and no upgrades possible so what you get is what you will be getting unless you change the whole package. With turbos you can start with a kit with little tunning to do. Then you can try to run higher boost with some mods, increase power with a better intercooler. Of course is just a difference in opinion. For 4 valve/cyl, low cc,higher volumetric efficiency, higher rpm, inline engines I will most definitely go with a turbo. If it was a large displacement, 2 valve/cyl, lower volumetric efficiency, lower rpm, V engine that would respond dramatically to a small boost I would go SC since a lot is to be gained by small boosts without the hassle of tunning your injection and pricewise would be better since a V engine turbo setup could be expensive, not to mention a twin turbo setup. But I agree both will make them run a lot faster!!!!
so a SC is the way to go for minimal "tuning/maintance" then? Is there anyone else other than Alpine with a SC? URL's welcome. The Alpine SC is 1,900.00 correct? What other expenses will be needed to install the SC?
Well even though I definetly prefer a Turbo but what the heck check this one also besides Alpine!
