Ok so Im debating this one actually...i had a number of options open.

-buy a v6 5spd fiero (my first car, and awesome street go cart of a car)
-turbo or n20 my tiburon

conclusions as of now are
-i want to make the tib bad ass
-why start ANOTHER project when my tib isnt finished
-nitrous is gonna be really hard on my engine

i seen a turbo kit thats gonna run me around $550, includes t3/t4 turbo, bov, fmic intercooler and piping, and i seen the 01 rd2 intake for around $200. unfortunately i have no clue as to what im doing when it comes to boost as this will be my first turbo project. i searched the FAQ but to no avail. Swap Meet is coming up soon and i need some opinions. The kit looks like the same one phantom used in his car.

You aren't talking about the E-bay crap are you? Stay away! drillsergeant.gif Trust me, you will not pull off a turbo for ANY less than $2,000 unless you buy all used parts, then you can pull it off for about $1,000. Someone here has done that.

Dweet's car never ran properly for one grand either way. the intercooler piping does not come with the kits on EBay, just the intercooler. The Ebay kit has no fuel/engine management, no piping, and uses cheap parts. After all that, you still have to get the car tuned, which runs probably $300-500 to get it going with a piggyback, higher if you remove the ECU all together and have to go to a specialist shop that knows how to work that new computer well. Getting a turbo to run on the Tib is going to cost at least $2500 if you buy decent parts.

I would consider nitrous.

if you don't know what you're doing then i would first of all suggest reading about how turbos work, because if you have a problem how are you going to know it? and if you do know it how are you gonna fix it? you need to at least have some knowledge.
anyway, if you're not the most mechanical/fab savvy, that's okay. I would contact viper/airborne, they are coming out with a completely bolt on kit (with korean-ecu) for our tibs. price is around $3000.

and don't buy that ebay crap .... SEARCH!

That's what I was thinking, especially now that we have programable ECUs. Coulda saved a few hundred there. But with all that money invested he should be pushing 400hp+ with a good tune.
