Hi guys, This is my 1st post.
I was reading on another host until i found out about RD.
I have been reading many posts and searching tons on RD as it has alot of useful information.
I wanted to insert photos of what i have but dont know how to...

List of items that i Have:
1. Turbo Manifold(T3 Flange) from SFR with diffuser.
2. Decompression Gasket ( Not alpine) but from Korea
3. Siemens 630CC Injectors
4. Oil cooler kit
5. Intercooler

I am only planning to boosting low to mid(0.5-1Bar).
It is my daily driver and i will be happy in the regions of 200-250 WHP as well
as stay as economic as possible.
I do alot of driving(+- 100km's a day) and would like to stay reliable therefore using the
decompression gasket.
The one i have has a thick steel block with thin sheeting on other sides.
Just that i want a bit more power in my elantra 2,0 99 Model(South Africa is my location)
It is Map based and non VVT.

I just needed a few inputs:
1. I know most people are using the duel rail setup. But to my suprise found out it is really expensive.
I mean for that money why not just go Standalone???
Does the duel rail help with economy?
In our local market we have Unichip, Dastek
And for Standalone we have Mr.Turbo and Wolf, Motec

2.I cant find the GT Series Turbo here so i have opted to go for T3 Super 60 or T3/T4 Turbo.
I am leaning more to the T3/T4 Turbo setup. But would like board member to give me detailed photos
and information on the a/r and most information you can supply me with.
The reason i want this information is i want to give it to my turbo shop and ask them if they have the exact turbo.
I can also get the Holset hy35 Turbo that is used by T4tiburon...
And i have read up on his comparison.
So i would like some input from him too:p.

3. I do alot of driving(+- 100km's a day) and would like to stay reliable therefore using the
decompression gasket. I know it is good for low to mid boost. Later i will upgrade to pistons.
The one i have has a thick steel block with thin sheeting on other sides that are rivited onto the
steel plate.
What i want to know is
Do i use 2 standard head gaskets on other side?

4. I did get some information that my injector is too big for my setup and will land me loosing fuel economy.
Is this still true if i get a standalone?

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Standalone will be fine with those injectors

1 gasket on each side of the decompression plate

Dual rail is just easy to use with SMT6 or other piggybacks. If you have someone who can tune a standalone for you or maybe install it that would be the best way to go

do some more research.. and be creative with the search function.. fing02.gif

for 250whp, you dont need pistons OR a decomp. plate.

Thanks for the input guys!
Ok so if the dual rail doesnt have any other advantage beside making
a easier install then i guess i will go standalone as i know alot of
places that do standalone... Its just a case of choosing a brand

And to socks. I have used the search button alot of times.
I know the decompression plate doesnt have to be used.
But i use it just to be a bit more reliable when i decide to
play with boost.
Eventually will upgrade to pistons. But just wanna install what i have 1st.

Guys i still need details on a/r etc on a T3/T4.
Please post pictures if you can.
I want to take the pictures and details to the turbo shop and tell them exactly which one i want!!!
Please help in this regard. I want to buy the turbo as in yesterday.

I know it will give me lag but i dont mind it.
I would rather keep my fuel economy.

Thanks Again!

fuel economy is all in the tune and your right foot.

with an e11, 550cc injectors and 200kw my best fuel economy is

city 450km/55L = 12L/100km = 19.2mpg (US)
highway 700km/55L = 7.8L/100km = 30mpg (US)

the city driving gets worse the more you give it the boot

My fuel consumption is similar as bryxf said I get around 12l per 100 km in the city (458 km per 55l) and around 10l per 100 km on the open road (550 km per 55l). Only difference is that I never got 7,8l/100 km even without turbo. My max was around 9-9,5l/100 km .

My setup is Garret/AiResearch T3 A/R .60 turbo and 4x 290 cc injectors + fifth 630 cc injector controlled by Unichip (Dastek).

FYI, my fuel economy with dual rails is the SAME as it was when my car was stock as long as im not getting on the car all day..

since the second rail only gives more fuel when it needs it, the rest of the driving is running on stock fuel maps. i also have leaned out the stock fuel some, using the knobs in the front of my emanage (cuz im not cool enough to have denis's black box) and i have sometimes seen better than stock fuel economy..

like 26mpg city driving on occasions.
