Turbo Kit, Switch Engine?
#1
Im getting my turbokit today, and I wondered if I would be a good idea to get another engine to work with. My friend who is a mechanic is going to help me install it, and we saw a tib thats for sale really cheap here, with a engine with only 34k miles on it. To buy it and install the turbo head gasket, VHR clutch, cam and all, and then swap engine, is this a good idea?
If something goes wrong with the turbo engine, I could just swap back. This is his idea. What would be the easiest choice here? Im thinking that installing the VHR clutch + head gasket would be much easier on a engine which is not in the car.

that is a good idea to have a spare engine. Also time when your car will be undrivable will be less is you will be working on the other engine and then just swap it.
Although I don't see why installing turbo headgasket will be easier, it should be the same.
