So I'm really thinking of buying this kit. Anybody got anything to say about it. Just looking for feedback. Larrs.

Well here's the standard... don't do it because chances are it's cheap Chinese parts that are just going to fail and do your car harm.

I would give it a try. but you are going to end up spending more in other quality parts, for example the wastegate and fpr. those are parts that i dont and wouldnt cheap out. other than that its a good price and im sure it works fine.

cheap turbos work fine. i have seen 600hp Hondas in PR with ebay turbos.

didn't yamaha had an ebay bb turbo on his car?

yes you get what you pay for and they dont last as long as garrett or precision turbos, just to name a few brands.

yeah, yamaha has the highest powered RD that i know of, and has been running an ebay turbo for a long time now.

there are GOOD cheap turbos, and BAD cheap turbos..

not saying that HAS to be a bad one though.

i personally wouldn't buy that kit though, to much to worry about.. with a kit that cheap, they are prob lower quality chinese parts than most.

gotta worry about the turbo, manifold, WG, BOV, fuel filter, boost controller, quality of lines, quality of gaskets, quality of fittings, etc.

i've seen some really bad fittings, especially for oil lines and such off ebay. also uses couplers/worm clamps, which = more chance to pop off. IC pipes don't have rolled ends to help prevent that.

they include THREE gaskets for the turbo? when you only need one...

that manifold also doesn't look like a beta manifold, so you might wanna find out what your actually going to be getting.. if its the obx style, they don't even have a WG port. and the obx are prone to cracking, bad fitment, etc.

i wouldn't trust a cheap chinese fuel filter either.

probably wouldn't be a BAD buy for 800$ but for me to feel comfortable putting that on a car, id have to replace about half of those parts, which would end you up in the 2000$ range.

for the oil cooler kit, those lines would be way to long, and im not sure how they are assembled, so you would prob have to get those modified also.

i see myron posted, and id like to say that in my starter kit, for under 2000$ shipped, i also use a chinese turbo, to keep the price down for some of the guys just wanting to run low boost. i have seen a few of these turbos in action for a while, and taken a few apart. for the price, you can't beat em. i have also sold two of the chinese turbos to tib guys.

the reason the cost is still around 2000$ is that every other part is superb quality, and alot of it is custom fit to bolt right onto a tib (IC piping, oil lines, all the right couplers/clamps needed, etc.)

The kit I am selling is a socks basic kit with upgraded parts. The turbo is not a knock off, it is garrett remanufactured unit with less play then it originally came with. The bov is upgraded to hks and pre-assembled by me(sob to get together lol). Black piping so it doesnt look like every other kit out there. vband flange on the turbo for quick disconnect when needed.

Again All my parts are brand new, will bolt up without worry, and is cheaper then you would get the full kit from socks for because it is being "resold". Like I said, give me an offer T_T

Just in case someone takes it this way, I am not saying don't buy from socks. Not at all. Just saying my kit is from him and you can get it a bit cheaper just cause I'm eager to sell.
