So how many of the stock sensors are you using in your setup, I read your going to use a full standalone ECU. Where did you get the multicore cable from you used in the photos?

I have only removed the OEM o2 sensors but am using a wideband, all other factory sensors remained in place. I didnt have to use any extra multicore wire since there was enough in the factory harness once I tore them apart.

Today's weather was finally nice again and I made best use of it possible!



- Return line has been run to the tank and secured very intricately along the way with insulated straps, the pump assembly is out and I have to plug the in tank FPR, finally have to figure out how to connect the return line.



- IAC motor has been relocated to the block and lines have been connected, one 3/8 line goes to the manifold, the other is connected to a breather filter and draws free air through it.



- finished securing the new e-brake cables, the bolts that originally connected them to the trailing arms snapped off and needed to be drilled out.



- Confirmed the Megasquirt is receiving a cranking signal from the engine



Lots more to do, pics will be taken tomorrow as I tackle a few more things...my battery is pretty much dead and cranking at 8-9v which wasnt enough to keep the Megasquirt powered up so my attempts to run the motor died along with it.

Im a fitter & turner by trade, what I did...



Where you have your fuel filler... Follow it down there will be 2 pipes (filler & breather), most likely plastic (as per the accents) however the filler will have a rubber hose connectionto where it connects to the tank. What you want to do is make up a fitting like a coolant temp sensor joiner for yyour radiator... But you need to have the tapped hole on a angle, firing into the tank. Will get a photo in a couple of hours for you.

Can I just tap the top of my fuel tank? I would imagine that even if I tapped the top of the pump assembly it would be submerged in fuel at some point.

I wouldnt, the only reliable way would to have a thick bit of plastic welded onto the tank and then tap it, if this wears out its just replace that hose, 15 min job. The tank isn't very thick and you have no way without completely pulling the tank apart to completly seal it either... and if it dont work I havnt destroyed my tank (we dont have any tanks around locally)

pre assembled from KFX performance.

how much did they hit you for that?

I think it was about $700 for the stage 2+, I opted for it wired to an empty ECU so it was plug and play.
