I have heard that you don't want regrinds if you can keep from it. Something about changing the base circle and causing things to not line up right unless you machine the caps. You guys run into any of those issues? Also what about the Hwarang cams Fast Hyundai sells. The page doesn't say if they are regrinds or not.

Only stuff I've heard problems of is what JonGTR brought up some time ago.

I've had my COlt Cams on for almost a year, no issues at all.

regrinds are awesome if done properly.

the proper way to do a regrind is weld (add-on) material to the cams and then grind it to the anlge desired. the el-cheapo way to do regrinds is to just take material off the base cam to get the anlge you desire, which is the way the colt cams are done.

both ways work, but the regrinds done by adding material, and taking away from that is the right way.

Not really Socks, the method of adding material, which I can't remember what it's called right now, can cause weakness in the lobes, and for them to chip or break off during hard use. Hardfacing, or something like that it's called.

Everything I've read says that the standard regrinds are the best, other than a fresh milling from a OEM blank.

well, if done right, adding material to do a regrind > standard regrind..

Nate's right, I've done a lot of research on it myself and talked to a couple of cam guys.
