Tapping Oil Pan, Question.
If you are going to weld the bung onto the pan.. I would consider dropping the whole thing from the bottom of the engine and carefully using a Unibit to make the hole the perfect size. No need to worry about metal shavings and the like in your engine.
You might also want to consider getting a Beta2 pan.. some of those are aluminum instead of pressed steel.

heres how to do it. DONT DO IT LIKE I DID.. ROTFL then ur oil will not drain, go back into the turbo, and bye bye seals lol..
anyway, the way mine is right now is high up and closest to where its almost flat with the bottom of the block..
on my first pan, im not sure how my buddy drilled the whole.. he welded it like whoa and it looked more like he took a plasma cutter to it than actually drilled..
beta II pan wuld be a good idea, alumminum cools off better, and easier to drill. if your not using your existing pan..

you could probably order one from a dealer. and it would make life alot easier, because when you take your old pan off, you could possibly bend it and such (like i did). And when you take the old one off youll have to clean it and straighten it out if you bent it. If you got a new beta II oil pan you could just rip the old one off and throw it in the garbage, and work with a new clean not bent aluminum pan.
