I got this turbo off ebay.

my turbo

and I guess there's a lot of bad stories with ebay turbos. How bad is it? Is it reall junk? I'm not going over 8 psi and i figured that I can use some cheap ones, but i don't know.

Also, as you can see from the picture, the air outlet to the intercooler is facing upward, so that the piping will be complicated. any piping suggestions without removing the windshield washer tank?

Finally, I would like to know if I can rotate the the outlet by removing the bolts and re install the part. Is that possible, or is that something that i shouldn't?
please let me konw.
any input will be appreciated.
thank you all in advance.

Like I told you, ebay turboes are no good. It doesnt matter if your going to be only at 8psi..you just cant get a cheap turbo like that. Anyone here will tell you that these turboes are junk and will just fall apart.

No matter how much your boosting, you have to be willing to shell out the money. If you get cheap on certain important stuff, then you will have a lot of problems. Youll spend more fixing the car then you spent on the kit itself.

turbo is gonna fall apart, or shred itself to pieces.. if a brand new 600$ turbo is going for <200$ and the deal sounds to good to be true, it is... sell it, and buy a GOOOD turbo.

yes, just loosen the bolts on w/e side your rotating and rotate it, no bigge..

Thank you guys for the inputs.
I figured that if i return this I will lose almost $90 on shipping and fee stuff.
I decided to give it a try and let you guys know how bad this ebay junk was! smile.gif
If this breaks, I will buy the real good one later.
I will post the result soon!

they arent balanced very well at all.. the bearings are always out of spec, and like everybody said it will eat its seals and destroy itself rather quickly, also they are VERY innefficent designs so they perform like ass as well....

seriously.. dont even bother putting it on.. just keep it for a nice looker piece.. and get a REAL turbo, you wont wanna bother throwing this on, and having it spit oil all over, and seize up while driving it, etc... i blew my last turbo, even though it was a good turbo, i just drowned it in oil, it was a headache for a few weeks..

just get a cheap rebuilt t3 super 60trim, or buy mine and rebuild it, and itll last for a long time, for ~300$ and not deal with the headache of a crapbox turbo.
