Default superchargers

i'm very interested in supercharging my tib, i like the idea of the supercharging more than turbocharging... not sure why... just sounds healthier...

but here's the thing. I don't know much about it. does anyone know what superchargers are available for the 1st gen. tib? and if i installed a supercharger, what else would i need to modify in order for this to work properly? IE: exhaust work, ecu programming???

any help would be appreciated!

CAPA in Australia makes a bolt-on kit, not sure what all is included but they claim "no need to purchase ANY OTHER PART to make a CAPA kit work as we claim. This includes every last nut and bolt up to and including professionally developed CAPA Memmaster engine management software should your kit require it". You'd have to dig up some info on them, I'm not allowed to link wink

Shark Racing is developing a kit, contents unknown, or so the rumour goes. ETA is mid-late this year.

I believe Alpine makes one kit that uses an Eaton Supercharger. This is what I may go with.

www.capa.com.au

The Alpine kit and the CAPA kit use the same twin screw supercharger. Not a eaton based unit.

A supercharger would benefit from...

Proper ECU replacement or ECU piggyback
Headers
full exhaust
Lightened flywheel
stronger clutch

Random: that Capa kit for the 2.0L is an eaton. smile.gif

That is what The Alpine supercharger looks like. It has always been my understanding that this supercharger is NOT an Eaton manufactured unit, but rather a "eaton"(roots) style supercharger.

I'll have to contact Alpine and CAPA and see if they give different or similar stories.
