Supercharger tuning advice
I’m looking for some tuning advice-...
The car has :
a custom fit m45 supercharger
2.1” sc pulley driven by ac side of crank pulley
Aem fic 6
Ford green top injectors
190 fuel pump
Fmu
Headers
1.8 cam
Full exhaust 2.25”
Findanza flywheel
Aem cai
Kia throttle body (dual 44.5mm butterflies)
Act street clutch
Aem wideband
Aem water injection (just water for now)
I have the fuel adjusted to where the afrs on the wideband, the long term fuel trims, and the engine seems to be happy. 14.7-15.5 at idle and 12 at full boost.
The ignition was originally pulled 4* at full boost. Today i altered the ignition map to pull a total 2* at full boost-... it had a very positive effect on performance!
My 2 questions are:
#1 based off of what i’ve read on nt.com-... most people don’t even bother with the ignition map and just leave it 0’d out-... is this something I should trust or wait for the dyno tune?
#2 my possible tuner recommends using water and methanol mixed to take full advantage of the octane and knock suppression. Without any way of being able to advance ignition, would it be worth putting in the boost juice?
Any input would be appreciated!
