Stand alone turbo lubrication system
I thought about doing stand alone system to oil turbine and not involve engine lubrication system.
This system sould consist of:
1. oil pump (electic)
2. oil can
3. oil pipes
4. oil radiator
5. temperature sensor
6. oil radiator fan
Advantages:
1. before starting the engine you can start turbo oil system and oil turbo bearings.
2. you can cool turbine by cooling oil in radiator
3. you can use different oil types in engine and turbine and change them separately.
4. after driving you can stop engine but your turbine oil system will continue to work (you can use turbo-timer here).
5. you can use temperature sensor to turn on/off turbine oil radiator.
6. you will have constant oil pressure in turbine.
What do you think about it?

Seems like a lot more trouble than it is worth... if you are truely worried about not having enough lubrication on startup or after shutdown.. I would try and find either an accumsump or a mechanical preluber you can also use for shut down...

Possible but not practical. You are just adding more things to breakdown or become unreliable. Turbos require a little more maintenance as it is, and you're gonna throw an unproven system at it. C'mon, I personally don't think it's a good idea. Not to mention the space it would take up, and the possibility of weight gain.

Its not that bad of an idea... on an engine like ours its not that practical though. My Dad's 69 Nova has a system where it pre-oils the engine before startup. Thats pushing 10.3 on slicks though... on a Tib its probably unnecessary and a turbo timer should be sufficient along with the stock engine oiling system.
