As the title says, anyone have version v2.6.7 (as opposed to 2.6.11) that they can give me?

I can't seem to connect with 2.6.11

installed it to check if it was right version.. shows. Version 2.6.7. at the bottom when i open it up. Release date 12/03/2003

Well, same error occurred when installing.

I had to download a vista version for my aem fic.

VISTA BLOWS.

 

software STILL works even with that error.. hit ignore

 

Okay, I did hit ignore but it gives me a comm error.

I installed it on my older laptop with xp and using a serial port instead of the adapter. I don't have a comm error anymore but it gives me a "runtime error 5" now when trying to load global settings. The program then shuts down. hmmm

 

try right click > run as administrator

I had to do that to get scan tool working right, I haven't tried the smt6 software yet.

I tried every compatibility mode possible and it doesn't make the install error go away. From that xd thread they say to turn on xp sp2 mode and run as admin in compatibilty mode. Anyways like socks said it seems to run fine in offline mode. I'll check tomorrow to see if it will connect to the smt6. I'm probably going to need to make changes and didn't think about vista possible causing an issue. On the other hand I've got 2 xp laptops so I have the option of just using one of those!

 

Ya, I got another xp laptop that it runs fine on.

Do you guys know if the "magic box" and the "turbo box" is the same thing?

yeah magic box is the old verison and turbo box is the newest one

I also had problems running SMT 6 software on Vista...best thing to do is use XP

its the same why with my scantool, with Vista is will not work...that is why i will always keep an XP laptop
