Smt Map Sensor Calibration.
I thought I would share this with the forum. Denis has been a great help to me over the months, and I hope he does not get mad with me sharing how to properly calibrate the MAP sensor in the SMT6. Not all cars and all map sensor will have the same output voltage.
Look in the text display (next to the rpm bar graph) you should see map volt.
With the engine running,vacuum hose unhooked, look at the voltage it should be around 1.6 to 1.8 volts.
Take that number, divided it by 5 then multiply it by 255
(Example 1.7volts / 5 X 255 = 86.7 so punch in 87)
Then use a radiator check pump, apply x psi (max boost you will run) to the map sensor and read the voltage in the same spot and do the calculation again then punch in the number.
First letter are the function AL = amp (map) low AH = amp (map) high
2nd number is the positon in the row 0 to 15 wich makes 16 boxes
3rd number is the value you attribuate to that voltage in my exemple you'll have one boc with vacuum 2nd box will be 0psi and 15th box will be 28 psi
4th number is the smt6 counts actual voltage divided by 5 multiplied by 255 (255 = 5 volts)

it's much easier this way then the way they tell you to do it in the manuals ;-)
btw i usually set it up at more then the max boost i want to run, this leave a safety margin to either make the car run unber rich under a " too much boost " situation or to make a fuel cut if the car over boost

Just and FYI that the map sensor, in my case my 3 Bar Map Sensor does not have a linear voltage curve like a wideband o2 sensor, so you really have to do trial and error to figure out which voltage is what psi/bar
For me until now, I can get pas 12psi until I push the car more and find out the next voltage points

Oh, if you see mine... it's not... I am using the same voltage curve graph from turbofreak.com and I even made my own voltage line/curve and it's not diagonal and straight

it's supposed to be linear..
comfirm your 5 volts feed and ground to be 100% sure
see if the feed or ground varies when you apply boost to the sensor
