Smt-6 Help
I know DMDicks still lurks around here, so maybe he can help me out since I bought from him if he remembers.
When I purchased my SMT-6 it was taped up on the communications cable. I decided to leave well enough alone and not open it up to see what was going on in there.
Recently, I couldn't connect with the communications cable. However - my tune was still holding so it was powered/grounded correctly. I opened up that communications cable tape and sure enough, the wiring had come loose there.
Problem is, I don't know which of the eight wires near the connector of the communications cable connect to the three wires near the SMT-6. I tried to see if there was any wiring color left from where it was soldered together but there is none. Its also not obvious which wires were even soldered - I think I can tell somewhat, but I don't know what goes where and I don't want to fry the SMT-6 itself.
Perfect Power's supposed 24 hour e-mail response has said nothing to two requests over a 96 hour timeframe.
Anyone have any idea how to connect this blasted stuff - or if its even possible for that matter?

The comm cable to 3 pin adaptor.
How it looks right now is this (Just to make sure I'm getting it right)
SMT-6 (has three wires coming out of SMT-6)=========BREAK(eight wires leading to serial connector)======(serial connector)

Did the cable get stretched or anything?
There's 3 wires that are used on the serial cable, that match up with the 3 wires on the SMT6. They are the TX (Transmission), RX (Receive) and Ground wires.
Here's how it goes.
SMT6 9 Pin Serial
Pin 2 RX Pin 2 RX
Pin 3 TX Pin 3 TX
Pin 1 Ground Pin 5 Ground
Here's a diagram of the serial cable as viewed from the front. You may have to use a multimeter to trace each wire back to the appropriate pin
