well this idea came because a spark plug in the 3rd cilinder broke and the little piece went inside, today i just took out the engine and tranny.
now what i wanna to the engine is a:

head

3 way valve angle job
port and polish

to the block i want to know which set of wiseco forged low comprecion pistons, and where to get em also. Should i get
82 or 82.5 bore which one is better?

if i change the pistons, should i change the rods as well? or stock rods can handle 250-300 hp?
i am going to change the main and rod bearings also (stocks).

btw i am turbocharged.

any other sugestions?

my goal is 300 hp.

I had the same thing happen when I was spraying nitrous. the only thing that was wrong was a broken exhaust valve where the piece had to escape. $16 fix for a valve.

brand new stock rods are probably rated above 300hp.
but not stock rods that are 7+ years old.
for my car pushing above 300+hp, resulted in damaged bent rods.

consider investing on forged pistons, forged rods, metal gasket.

thats cuz your tuners were morons^^

stock rods WITH arp bolts will hold just fine

when the rods snap its usually cuz of the stock bolts

faithofdragon?
my suggestion is strengthening the engine.

Your suggestion is keep persisting with OEM and standard parts.
and keep pushing it over 300hp until something breaks?
Our cars are not Nissan rb30 engines that can push 400hp on OEM form.

Cooper gasket cracked at 20psi, 330hp, arp head bolts, modified head etc.
Because if I knew beforehand that cooper and oem gaskets are rated at only 10-16psi Maximum.
I wouldn't have pushed the engine that much.

wiseco can make you a 82.0 mm bore if you want to... just give them a call but if your goal is 300 hp then, get the 83.0 mm bore

pm jongtr... maybe he can hook you up somehow

the rods, might as well... your engine is already torn apart... why not just do it and have a piece of mind

Alittle on the expensive side, shotpeening shouldnt cost more then 75USD for all rods, and polishing should be a bit more.
