Well I'm still pretty new at this and I'm trying to learn what would be best. So I have a few question for you 1st and 2nd gen. BETA engines. First off...what is the compression ratio at for most of your cars? Second, what fuel types do you use? Last but not least, do you know what is the actual timing angle at the crankshaft during boost?

right now i am running the stock 10-1 comp on the pistons at 10psi with 370cc injectors, 255lph fuel pump and aem fpr. my timing is at 6 deg retard.

i will be going to 9-1 comp on forged pistons for higher boost.

on stock comp ratio's, if you are wanting to keep your engine going for a while, i would'nt go past 7psi.

i knew i was going to re-build the engine so i raised my boost slowly to see what the engine could take. well at 10psi, i blew out piston rings and blew my front main seal.

it was'nt something that happened right away, it took about 3 weeks for them to go and when one thing went, another problem happened right after.

so i would suggest that if you are looking for a good daily driver but cant afford re-build then stay at 7psi if not, get pistons that can handle the power.

i hope this helps.

Let me know how much boost you can run when you lower the compression to 9:1

well hoping that my diff will hold up, i want to max the boost on the t3/t4 which is 27psi if i am not mistaken.

after i quaife it, i will go bigger on the compressor side. right now i have the standard 50 trim, i will go up to a 60 or 61 trim, which ever is the next size up for that turbo. then i will see how much more i can get out of it.

as soon as everything is broken in and ready to run, i will see what it holds.

if i get my e6k back within the next week or so and get it installed then i will have more info on the max boost. if not then i will be able to tell you what the maf can handle. i may test both just to have more info for people using maf and map systems.

maf will max out around 260-270whp

Once it does... it will flip the car in to limp mode...
