^^yep aem wideband.

arg, it's got to be fuel. I haven't had time to build a charge pipe pressure tester and check but the fuel problem keeps getting worse.

When I worked on it the other day I had it running great in the 12's. Tonight it was back to hitting 15's when under boost.... crap. why is our ecu so fickle?!?!?!

QUOTE (Jay-M @ Apr 29 2007, 01:52 AM)
usually when a spark is blown out at high rpm/boost they'll be some backfiring

I'm no expert on engines, but from what I have read and seen, i've never heard of a spark being 'blown out' by boost. It's an electrical spark, like lightning.
I seen a few articles where guys have asked about spark being 'blown out' on their supercharged Commodores when they up the boost and there were different answers for each case but it mostly all fell down to ignition system needing an upgrade, bad tune or crap fueling.

^^ What happens is with all the air and fuel being forced inside the combustion chamber, more than what it was designed for, the electrical system can not drive the spark across the plug gap consistently, so it gets "blown" out at higher rpms.

It could very well be the MBC. MBCs generally have some trouble holding a specific boost level sometimes.

But since you say the fuel keeps getting out of whack, I'd just run through the entire fuel system and clean everything up just in case. It might just be the ECU being gay. Does resetting it help?

^^ Cheers, Ham. That's pretty much what I had read.

I was reading some more today when I was waiting for my new exhaust to be finished, they were talking about a similar problem with GTR's. To stop high RPM misfires due to the spark being "blown out" they started using a CDI system and they gained 35wKw.

I'm really starting to think the whole thing is, like ham said, just the ecu being gay.

I'm getting super varying a/f ratio's like 13.0 -15.1 under boost. When I tuned it I was getting a constant 12.3.... stupid ecu.

I just don't want to have to go to the dual rail and make things that much more cramped/complicated. I think I'm going to try this magic box of dennis's. Maybe I can make it managable until a reflash comes along or I get loads of cash/time and go standalone.
