you get wiseco. Aries. J.E and im sure many more fordged Pistons. What have you done with your conrods? Still stock ? Personaly i think upgrading pistons alone is a waste. Yes sure you can make great power but sooner or later you will snap a conrod or lift headbolts. So its a catch twenty two. Spending money on forged internals and running a mild turbo setup is pointless went cast or hyperpuretic pistons will do. And its all about the tuning. I know many ten second cars using stock pistons. I ran my last setup with cast pistons and 2.5mm skimmed off THEN pocketed. And that was many succesfull runs down the quarter mile @ 2.3 bar boost. A few months later a conrod snapped. If you are going to have fuel failure dont think your forgies wont get away unharmed. But by all means if you can afford fordgies. Go for it

I would not get the 1.8 pistons/rods.. 7.8:1 compression is way too low, you need like 5psi to get back to stock power lol plus they are OEM and not stronger
I would either just use a decom gasket if there are no $$, or get some wiseco pistons and keep stock rods..
You also have to consider how much the work of installing and balancing will be.. It makes no sense to get the cheapo 1.8 pistons while forking $$ for the work and still ending up with a shitty setup

howdy. 7.8-1 is very low but dont thing the car is going to be dead at the right bottom especialy with a the right turbo manifold and approphate turbo. I originally used a ebay ramhorn. But since switched to custom hybrid and boost now boost comes in 2000rpm sooner and makes better power across the board. The oems are not stronger but will last longer as conrods do get fatieged. The 5psi you need to get back to stock will be killer in the top of the rpm range. It is good to have all round drive ability but im a drag race you are in top rpm most of the time. The machine work cant be that much. But thanks for the input. I will defaintly try a decom plate first. I have heard of guys makeing huge number on stock pistons and compression. But that is all hearsay. Do we have a beta turbo rollcall? It will be good for 2010.

the stock rods are good as is to 400hp
tested on speedfactors wagon
mine on the other hand are shot peened, heat treated, and have ARP bolts

hi FOD. Arp is a very good idea. Can you give a link regarding speedfactors wagon?

you could do 300whp with stock internal if you want more go wisseco piston
