Default Pistons

Will I need to swap out my stock pistons if I'm putting in a t3/t4 and only plan on running 8psi max? I heard I will because the stock pistons wont handle it.

stock motor (pistons, valvetrain, rods) in good condition (compression 200+psi) will be fine at around 15psi with a real good tune.

theres a guy that has run 300whp on a COMPLETELY stock motor a 60-1 turbo and a real good tune without issues.

with just a piston upgrade, the motor will hold a TON of power (yamaha at RDT ran 470whp with just pistons and stock rods)

what do you guys think of this ?
http://www.kdmstuff.com/shop/step1.php?number=735

- 1.8 Pistons and connecting rods set for 4 cyl 2.0 Engine
- Contains of 4 pistons/4 connecting rods/piston rings
- Lowers compression ratio to 7.8:1
- Inexpensive way to lower the compression for Forced Induction set up
- SFR's Project 450whp Tiburon is using this internal setup
- Ideal setup for 300whp+ turbo cars
- Brand new condition
- Shipped by using Korea post regular mail with tracking number

i think this is a good deal, becuase
1) its afforable
2) you get new rods
3) its a straight fit

if you had to buy forged pistons and start making huge power the conrods would fail and you would start lifting headbolts. i think this setup will be reliable for 1 bar boost hopefully that will be 300bhp

The only other option is to use a spacer plate to drop compression but that will only get you to 9.something to 1. Then you could still skimm 1 or 2mm off the deck of the piston to go lower . . . .

please give info and links. I know you can run a audi 2.0 turbo piston. Then the bore must be 82.5mm. And you might need to skim the BLOCK By 2mm which im not keen on doing. . .
