piping problems
ok i have a speed factor kit with a fmic and i keep blowing off the charge pipe from the turbo , i put t clamps on it already the high tourqe kind,i also oput on a different scilicone connector cause it was ripping, when it happens it boosts good up to 6 pounds stays at boost for a while like 30 seconds then pop for no reason . help please. oh ps its the connection to the turbo not the piping.am i getting compressor surge? what could be causing this?

If you are using a minimum of 3-ply turbo couplings with t-bolt clamps, then there should be NO reason that it should come off. Those things will hold tremendous amounts of boost.

Make sure you got those things on tight. I'm running those clamps @ 23PSI with no problems on my couplings...

Sorry if its a little off-topic, but iv read that you should never put our small engines with small turbos at full boost for more than 20 sec. 25 sec. max.
Is this true?

Why would you be running full boost anyway for 20-25 seconds? On a turbocharged Tib from a complete stop thats more than 130MPH most likely lol. Full boost on my car lasts like 11 seconds and I'm at 108MPH then from a dead stop lol.

yes thank you for your reply i am using t bolt clamps the high tourqe kind they look like theres washers on them. the coupler is a silicone coupler for a diesel so i think it should be able to hold some boost and im not boosting past 5 pounds
i think im getting some kind of reverse flow like a back surge? anyone heard of this?

Your talking compressor surge. That happens when the throttle is shut really fast and air is caught between the turbo and the throttle plate. Then the air goes back and forth out of the turbo, until leakback occurs around the compressor. This can also occur with too much boost pressure in constrictive piping. Are you running Tim's kit or your own?

Check your clamp. Like I said, there should be NOOOOO way that the coupling system should come apart if you are using a t-bolt clamp and a 3-ply coupler.
