So heres the deal,as in my rebuild/fail thread,My last oil pump shattered, may have been old and worn ,or maybe other factors contributed to it? not sure .So brand new oil pump, well broken in build at 9000+ kms and all was fine,.I had some meth leak issues last dyno session and had fixed them, was daily driving at 12psi with a switch for meth to come on at 4 psi (just a switch),So my progressive meth controller arrived,I installed it,had it set to where I wished to start and have full jet. and hopped on the dyno for tuning.,after ironing out the afr at 12 psi for 5 or 6 pulls getting 240hp ish/240tq ish, I turned up to 14 for 2 pulls, all was fine.It was about 8 celcius and temps were fine...@16.5psi started out in first, then the clanging noise from mod hell, instant non oil pressure, and I shut her down immediatly.,Ripped her apart again, looks like no damage done(hopefully), but heres the new 9000kms oil pump.!, I figure I was about 270ish hp this time it went, over 300 last time! I wonder if I can get the rings machined with a harder metal? ,Probably cost an arm!?.,Need a better pump or its just gonna be oem pump/oil cooler/@a safe 12 psi for me., any ideas guys and gals?

Do the High hp(300,400hp) gurus have uprgraded pumps?or just coolers?.. Or do I just plain out suck? sad.gif

Wow, dude that gear is fu*ked but i have seen that happen quite a few times. If i happened twice with the oem id be thinking about going aftermarket anyway. I believe importperformanceparts.net sells aftermarket high flow oil pumps that made to with stand a higher power output.

You can use the filter adapter from a Honda. Then just grab whatever cooler you want and run lines. A nice setup with thermostat will be a couple hundred but you can get a real nice setup for under 100 easily.

I installed a new OE Oil pump on my Beta2 tib and have had no problems. Maybe the Beta2 pumps are stronger?

Turbosock's oil cooler looks sweet!, Thanks for the info!!,Is Toga the only option for upgrades?,been searching,nothing...<I really need 2 beefed up worm gears(pump),although a high flow is good,The crank is what snaps the rings. "What he said. I am (will be) running the Toga high volume pump on mine. It is in an OEM case, just have different internals. , ,The only internals are 2 rings, plate to hold them in and some screws, I Have another oem ordered,I should see if they(Toga,or any other sugestions?) sell the pump parts seperatley and install in an oem case., The only reason the housing cracked was because the rings snapped and binded..still cant believe a stock pump can only handle 270 hp or so!??

Maybe there's something wrong with the end of that shaft causing it to wobble at high speed and bind/break?
