Default No money for turbo . . . yet

Well, as I posted on FX, no money for the turbo now. Some financing I was counting on fell through. Oh well. I decided to go to a multi-stage to get me to boost-nirvana.

Phase 0: (starting with my next paycheck)
SR 4-2-1 headers and an exhaust. Either a local shop, speedstate, or Pacesetter (no flames please). This will get me some extra HP for now and remove the stock manifold, which I hope to turn into a turbo manifold with my mad-machine-shop-skilz.

Phase 1: next spring
I'll keep an eye out for deals on properly sized turbos and intercoolers. Once I get a good deal on one, I'll start making the manifold and hopefully get a 4 to 5 psi kit going with the stock fuel and injection setup (+ RRFPR)

Phase 2: follwing spring
Haltec ECU, larger injectors, larger fuel pump, and crank up the boost.

It's incremental, allows for an abort at any time without too much loss, and allows for routine maintenance. If I got the Alpine kit, I would have been strapped for cash for a few months and if something needed changing (fuel filter, alternator, etc) it would have been rough.

Anyway, I just wanted to give an update for all that have helped me out in the last month; especially Random and Mario. I assure you, the information will not go to waste. Turbo is coming, just later rather than sooner. smile.gif
