New Boost Plans, Need Some Opinions

well, i am addicted to boost, and i am already upgrading my turbo kit which was only on for about 2 months, and roughly 1000 miles.. i need more BOOST.. anyways i think i got my pieces of the new kit picked out, and how i am going to go about the whole thing.. i want some opinions from the upper end turbo guys on here to help me out with my decision..
here are what my plans are as of now..
the turbo i am planning on getting is the Garret GT32.. i am not sure which trim to get .69 or .78 the turbo supports up to 420hp which is over what my ultimate goal will be..
heres a link to the intercooler i will be purchasing.. intercooler
it will support up to 600hp and the one below it, i dont believe it will be enough, or i will be pushing it.. the dimensions are 31.50"L x 8.00"H x 3.50"D and it uses a garrett bar and plate core
for my intercooler piping i will be using heat wrapped alumminzed piping for the whole thing.
i have 8.5:1 forged tigerlily pistons which i will be installing at the time of turbo upgrade, they are stock bore
i am going to get a set of stock rods cryo-treated, some new rod bearings, and going to try and find some arp rod bolts that i can use. rumor has stock rods are good for 400hp, so cryo treated, with better bolts should be good anough for my goal.
i am using the emanage which will soon have the ignition fix, and i am using a second fuel rail for boost, so no MAF screwing me over under boost.
i am looking to push 350-360whp @ 16-18psi.. will not list 1/4 mile times, cuz i need LSD and 1/4 mile is a drivers game but im hoping for high 12s with LSD
if u need any other info on my kit, to weigh ur opinion let me know.. smile.gif thanx

I dont like the intercooler. It doesn't need to be 3.5" wide. 3" is good enough. 8" is not tall enough. Maybe 10".
I would wait and shell out the cash for the Pauter rods. The stock ones might handle 400whp, but for how long? Do you really think you'll be satidfied with 350whp? I dont think you will.
After buying the arp rod bolts, you'll have spent almost half of what the Pauter rods cost.
Save up the cash and do it right the first time, cause trust me, you'll be pissed if it breaks later. If those rods break on you, then they will destroy everything else you just bought. turbo, pistons, studs, valves, etc.

approximately how much do rod bolts cost? i have never seen a part number for arp rod bolts, i was just going to research and find something to fit.
as far as intercooler, thanx for opinion, i will try and find out how much my shop would charge for something like that..
keep them opinions coming guys..
i think i am going to have to be satisfied with 350whp or in that area.. tib modding is going to be slowing to a hault after this turbo upgrade, new spoiler, and front lips.. just found out i got a baby on the way, so thats gonna jack the tiburon modding.. now imma have to look into a freakin family car, lol.. ouchies..

Stock rods use press fit pins that you need a machine shop to modify, whereas with the Pauters you can just slide them in yourself.

That intercooler will be fine for 400-500 WHP. There are tons of guys using them and Precision intercoolers are one of the best available.
As for the stock rods. Nobody on any of these fourms will actually know how much WHP they will support. But from what I have been told tuners in Korea say they are find for up to 400WHP
What octane fuel do you plan on using? For 300 +WHP your going to need ATLEAST 93 Octane. Best I can get at the pumps is 91 Octane. So I will be experimenting with Toluene and 91 Octane. Or prolly going to start using Alky Injection.
Sounds like a good setep.

Well, we not only "found" that from ARP, we bought some sets, too. I got one on my car. I don't have any #'s handy, and I'm not sure if they were taken off the shelf or custom-made, but Denis would know.
One way or another, I guess Denis could order them for you.

we've got a couple of sets left at the shop if you ever need some,
i couldn't say if it's a custom part or from another car, my boss was the one working to get those for us
i do know we received a good batch at the time, so they might be custom piece since ARP gonna charge you huge tooling set-up fees and it doesn't cost much more at thsi point to get extra sets made

hey denis, if u have a set of rod bolts from arp for the beta, i want em.. let me know a price, and ill send $$ ASAP. i wont be able to use paypal tho since rick fvcked me over and i have negativ balance..
gary, i am using either 93 or 94 octance fuel.. 94 is harder to find, but i use it when i can..
from what ive heard, when stock rods are usually busted are at the bolt area, and with cryo and shot peening, with the arp bolts and toga bearings, im thinking i should be plenty safe..
