Lower Compression Head For Turbo?
#1
I friend told me if I put turbo on the beta I would need a lower compression head or something like that because nonturbo engines have such a high compression...and if I ddint it would melt down.
Is this true? and if so what do I need to do to lower it?

You can get low compression pistons, but it's not necessary unless you plan on boosting a lot to get high numbers. a Mild turbo setup will be just fine on stock internals (except for fuel injectors, pump, and spark plugs obviously)

man. search "compression" on here.
also, you MUST buy corky bell's book "maximum boost". you need to atleast know what possible precautions you might need to take. it sounds like you almost have no knowledge on the matter of high compression and what its characteristics are, which is an ABSOLUTE must for going turbo, even if you are paying someone else to do it.

the stock BETA engine can handle 7-8psi perfect.. a little more will kill your engine very slowly or really fast... its depends on boost...
But... If you are asking this kind of questions... you better get a book... I till help you A LOT!!.. With that knowledge you can plan your turbo setup really fast and without throwing money to the trash can... fing02.gif
