i'm just thinking....

If you don't connect any vacuum lines to the wastegate, will it open prematurley? The wastegate will not open without a boost signal, right?

Nope it won't open. It'll over boost. I believe there might be wastegates right now on the market from tial that have a boost limit and start to open if your vac line pops off.

Not all wastegates are created equal. I've seen china crap open up with no boost signal because of cheap springs. Also if you have a super low PSI setting there's a good chance it will open up some under high boost.
