Default J2 Lantra 1.8 (1997) and Turbo

Hello People! smile.gif
I'm very glad that i've found a forum dedicated to Hyundai! At last! wink

Well...
I'm an owner of HMC J2 Lantra 1.8L (1997).

Is it possible to setup a turbo on my car?

If yes, what mods are required?
Where can i find additional info on what i have to buy/to setup turbo?

As far as i understand i have to do following mods to install turbo:
1. Turbo
2. Power Intake/Exhaust
3. Computer
4. Turbo Controller

Please help me, because i'm crazy about setup of turbo in my car!!!

Also all additional information about perfomance tuning of my Lantra will be highly appreciated!!

p.s. Sorry for my english, I'm from Russia wink

Best Regard! And hope i'll find all answers here! wink

Turbocharge it. Only, build the engine to make it reliable under boost, I can't say what the parts avalibility for Hyundai is like in Russia, so better build it to last before any problems develop. With more power comes a compromise, as the car goes faster it will begin to be underbraked, so look into a performance brake kit like SR's or Brembo's to even things out, together with better stabalizer bars and struts&springs. A high performance car must still run in balance with the parts it consists of, this is the law of physics. If winters in St. Petersburg and Volgrad are anything to go by, you best be looking into an LSD as well.

Happy sno-drift.

Yeah, i thought about 330mm cross drilled brakes.

Btw, is there any reason to install 16* or 17* wheels instead of 14* ?

2 NeCRoASiAN : What's more I have to add to make engine reliable under boost? smile.gif

Bro, the other items you have mentioned have already been covered several times before. Try doing a forums search for them and be ready to read a whole lot, all the information has already been poated, and it may atke a little time to get a hold of it all.

Good luck!
