Default Intercooler size

Anyone know what the largest size FMIC is possible in the stock bumper? Also, does it matter what shape it has (long vs. tall)?

length and height to not necessarily matter however keep this in mind. It is better to have a greater number of shorter baffels than a smaller number of longer baffels. What i mean is that an IC with short verticle baffels is more efficient that an IC with long horozontal baffels. Make sense?

also if an IC is too big it will contribute to turbo lag as it will take longer to pressurize.

With the stock bumper, you can fit a 15x8x2 (core) without a problem. The problem is getting air flow to it, and making sure the air flow goes THROUGH it.

Read the intercooler duct design section of "Maximum Boost". You will probably have to fabricate some ducting or some air blockoff plates to make sure the air goes through the intercooler and not around it.
