I've been wondering for the longest if it would be possible to remove the idle control off of our cars for those of us that are running programable ECM's. Since we are running on a map set up I figured we could do away with it and just have the throttle body potitioned as to regulate the the idle. Also freeing up another place to tap in for vacumm. What do you guys think?

why would you want to remove it? Its not a restriction, and it doesnt leak boost, unless im missing something its kinda pointless imo.
And the TB being left open a crack wouldnt work without some way to regulate it, the idle would surge like crazy.

The way I was thinking was that, when you come off of boost, the engine would rev down past what the idle cotroller could maintain. As much fuel as was being dumped it wouldn't maintain it at idle and shut off. Would I be wrong?

I'm not using the controller (unplugged). But I have a standalone and the bypass actually stays open a little when it's unplugged.
