Older tiburon haven't OBDII port,so it is impossible to datastream ECU.
I have seen that Hong Kong ebayers sell an adapter from OBD1 HYUNDAI to OBDII. Have anyone tried it? |
Ehh, was your car made after 1 January 96?
If so, it's OBD2. http://www.obdii.com/background.html I've never heard of a OBDI RD. |
or you could put what year tib and where its located in your profile?
|
There was no 95 Tib ever if Im thinking right. There were 96's overseas but I dont think earlier. And even some 95s are OBD2. Dont think Hyundai would have had an OBD1 for a year of a model then switched. 95 Eclipses were even OBD2 because Mitsubishi was smart enough to not have to swap everything the second model year.
He may not even have a Tib though also... |
euro spec car are WAYYY different then what we have here...
|
All your tiburons use OBDII protocol?????You are lucky guys
In europe OBDII standard became mandatory in 2001,so cars from 1996 to 2001 sometimes use OBDII protocol, sometimes not... |

that´s right! i live in germany and my tiburon 2000 has an obd connector, but doesn´t support any obd protocol (neither obd1 nor obd2 !!!). only tiburons from the year 2001 and above support the obd prorocol here! but because i work in a hyundai garage, i´m able to use the hiscan pro as often as i want cool.gif ! |
what does the obd port look like on your cars over there? is it the standard obd2 port we have here?
|
yes, i think it´s the same port! do you know any scanners that can connect to a non obd tiburon (exept of the hiscan)?
|
Yeah JBS is right , the german Tiburons before 2001 doesnt support OBD 2 .
I tried it on my 97 and on two other Tiburons build before 2001 none of them gets a connection to a OBD 2 or OBD 1 device. |
