Default Having some problems with my car.

As of now, the car should be done in 4 days.

I'm still having some problems and questions though.

As for the air flow sensor placement. The shop placed the air flow sensor towards the ground (where the filter has access to cold air)and then attached the filter to the sensor directly. Is this a good solution. How did the other turbocharged betas in here work with the placement of their air flow sensor?

as long as you keep the MAF at least 6" away from the turbine, you should be okay.

Idealy, you'd like at least 4-6" of pipe between the MAF and the air filter to "straighten" the air flow and get the air flowing smoothly. It also gives you a spot to plug in the Intake Air Temp Sensor.

Keep the filter at least 12" off the ground, unless it is protected in the fenderwell.

Ok...I got some more problems now.

When I'm in the first 2 gears, the car seems to bog down alot during 2000-3000 rpms. Its gotten to the point where I have actually stalled the car today while driving up a hill.

Any ideas on how to correct this?

But, from the test drives...dang! This car goes.

Ok...another problem. I was driving today and when I was slowing down (clutch and brakes were both applied) I had the engine stall on me. It happened 3 times tonight. One of the times I heard a popping noise coming from the engine compartment (detonation?) and the engine stalled there after. The car was running rich the whole time.

Any ideas to help me out?

sup man, hehehe, going thru the same problems I did I see... well call me if you are wondering something, cause we got almost the same kit...

well let me ask you this, what wires are you running??? 2nd? what plugs... 3rd do you have any type of MSD system, not sure if Chris' computer is handling that then forget the MSD question...

and last, becareful with the engine backfires, first big one that happened to me, bent my stock throttle body, then the rpms would take forever to go down cause the plate was not closing anymore, hope you haven't done this... but after changing to magnecors, and adding the MSD all that stopped...

as of now, the ignition, wires, and even spark plugs are stock.

I'm breaking in the engine, so my shop didn't think it was necessary to have those items as I am waiting for some more parts (engine management, radiator, etc) for the 2nd build up of the engine.

sup man, I would suggest, that you change your wires now, you will see what I mean from the moment you change them... I understand why you want to break in the engine stock, but that basically just goes for the injectors so you don't bog the engine... try and tell me what's up, also change to the -6 or -7 spark plugs...

i've heard of having the maf lead striaght off of the compressor outlet being best. this gives the best air flow measurements. as long as you have an intercooler, this isn't a problem, because you run rich with this method. and the best place for an air filter is about 3mm (0.0118inches) from the ground. just don't run through any potholes or puddles.

of course, i'm just kidding, but i felt like posting that. dunno don't ask me why. you don't like the answer.

2uniq, sorry man, but no, those are no good for turbos, trust me, they are my sponsors, but I'll still tell you, they're great for regular mods, but once you go turbo they will fry, that's what happened to mine, that's why I'm telling Maier about the change of wires, VITEK is building me a set of their race wires, which are super expensive but they want me to try them out, they don't even list these, once I try them out, they might begin putting them out there as special orders for those with turbos... go with Magnecors man, from the moment I put them on, everything was smooth again, well that was after a new throttle body... hehehe

and Maier, whichever, I really have gotten used to both, lol... dunno
