You don't need to go overboard on internal work to get the desired power level you want. I'm currently running slightly modified pistons (thanks to faulty camshaft install), Shark Racing camshafts, and a shitload of boost and I'm currently at 400+ whp on 25psi. I would suggest getting some low compression pistons and freshening up your motor if it has some miles on it.

To get to your power levels it's all about tuning. I keep my tune on the fairly rich side (11.5@WOT) and 13.5 for daily cruising. A SMT6 and Dual Rail Kit can be had for under $700, you just need to search for a good deal. Hope this helps, you don't need a standalone for big numbers, just have to know what yours doing.

its proven on this site that you dont need to touch the motor as far as pistons and rods...what i would have the shop doing the install do a leak down test and a compression test to determine if you need to open up the motor...

if not then all you need is a good tune and know what you are doing...I know one person personally that has not touch the bottom end (tdonnell) and his tiburon is freaking insane fast...granted he did get his head done but that was before he went turbo...also jongtr was making close to 300whp give or take with no work done to the motor...but all these guys have good tunes...

start simple, it's gonna be way easier for you and the shop and way easier on your pocket...

check the actual engine if it's in good condition
get a good 4 or 6 pucks clutch (please no e-bay special)
get your self a basic turbo t3 super 60 or a small t3t4
slap on a decent intercooler,2.5" piping
nice 3'' exhaust system
put on a dual rail and a smt6
do a proper tune

when well done the car will be way fun to drive, and leave place to grow without changing major stuff or changing the same parts twice

Just go with Wiseco low comp pistons and leave the stock rods and you should be fine.

you should actually try out the AEM F/IC. would be alot nicer AND cheaper than going with a dual rail kit.. worst that can happen is it doesn't, you lose 100$ and sell it on ebay and buy a dual rail kit.

anyway, like denis said, check your motor for its condition before you even THINK about boosting..

if you spend 7-8k$ on a turbo kit though, your just wasting money.

like i said yesterday, just pick up a t3/t4 50 trim like i had.. pretty inexpensive, decent spool, good top end. max power is around 400hp. you can also upgrade to a BB CHRA in the future if you wanted.

do NOT buy a knockoff wastegate or BOV. those are VERY important.
