I have a 97 tib FX, what should I do in terms of performance upgrades to get the car the strong running ability that it should have before going turbo. I want to make sure the car is ready and I understand that I may need a stand alone fuel management system. Can someone explain to me what this would do to help the car in the long run and how much this will run and what other things I should do before even thinking about turbo. At this point I need a new clutch, a tune up, and some fresh oil, anything that I should add to this list.

How many miles on the car? Since it's a 97, you might want to think about a rebuild or maybe swapping for a younger motor. I got one locally for $300 and 15k miles.

If you think it's in good running condition then you'll need to start on an aftermarket clutch (stage 3), then upgrade the fuel pump with either:
Eclipse GST pump
Walbro 255l with a full fuel regulator swap.

Wow, thats impressive _____ /

Supermanwoot post what kind of boost you want, how much HP, ETC. I agree with all the above, take a serious look at your motor, you don't wanna dump $2000 US into the thing and then have something break because it's old! Definitly upgrade the FP, you must feed you monster!!

My MAXIMUM goal would be 250bhp. Im not looking for super power by any means but i mean wtf i got waxed yesterday by a ford escort ZX2. Seems the car runs strong has 100k on it but I am looking for more power i would be happy with around 200.

/ ____ I agree. I'm almost positive I read somewhere that the speed factor kit is good for at least 200 or so. Could've been the alpine kit though. The speed factor kit is WAY better, either way that is pretty attainable IMO.
