Default FIC issues

Well after successfully wiring up the fic to the tib, ran into a bit of an issue or two.

First off, I find that the car is running a bit rich and when I attempted to hook up the laptop to the fic, I am told that the ECU is offline and when I try to connect in other means, the result is the same.

Right now the tib is mostly stock,(cai, headers, 2.5" exhaust, 1.8 cam) and I'm trying to get a heavy set of logs for MAF removal. But, without any kind of connection, that is going to be tough.

My laptop is currently running windows 7 and have posted at aem.

Secondly, I was wondering where some of you, that are running the fic, tapped into for the vacuum line.

Thanks.

Um, I wanna say did you by the Fic used or new, If you bought it new, use the supplied disc to load the software to the computer as it will have the right firmware to connect to the Fic, If you download it you are gonna have to guess what software is actually on the AEM FIC and if you dont guess right and download the wrong version the AEM FIC wont let you connect.

Also for Vaccum you can tap off any line really coming from the Manifold, you saying your stock i would Tap into the line to the Passenger side of the Manifold leading to the FPR.

I did get it new, and used the supplied cd, and nothing.

Also, you drilled through the firewall for the vac line, i assume. I was curious if there was a vac line inside the cabin.

No there is a Whole that has goo over it just underneath the FRP straight down about 1ft. It is big enough to route the line through the AEm fic that i have mounted in the Cabin, Also as for the Software, only thing i can think of is that maybe the software was updated on the Aem fic and it isnt the software that is on the Disc, have you read the Forums on Aem's website, you might also try to Flash the Fic and just follow the directions as you will need to be running 110Hex file anyway or you will get a shitty sputter as 110Hex actually reads our injector pulse better...

Hooked up and runs. But, she runs REAL rich. Sputters on light throttle from idle to around 1200. No sputter with hard throttle though. Having a **** of a time setting up a good fuel map.

*edit- Nevermind, found the issue, grounding problem, fixed.*

But the weird thing I notice is that the fic rpm gauge is at a solid 12000 rpm dropping to like 3800 or so when I rev the car. Anyone know what is going on there?

Not sure what the FIC uses to measure RPM, but I know on my window switch I had to set it to two cylinder due to it being a waste spark system.

No idea if that helps or is relevant..

Did you do a RPM and TPS calibration?

I can see the RPM at 12000 but what about the throttle percent? Is it at 0-1% at idle? If not, do a calibration on both. Do the throttle calibration first then the RPM calibration. Set the RPM for the calibration to 2000

Can you give me a better video of the values on the bottom?

^^^I'm gonna try that. Kinda ran outta time while working on it yesterday. I did notice that, however, while playing with aemlog, the maf in voltage across the board was zero. Maybe the calibration will fix it.

Hopefully.
