Evo 8 Manifold And Turbo On Beta Engine * Pics Inside
Ive got an Evo8 setup here that I dont think is going to be used anymore. If someone else wants to give it a shot feel free to PM me. I have cast mani, turbo, O2 housing, WGA, and a j-pipe.

the manifold is a megan racing knockoff. its really hard to find cheap.they have an ugly one that is real cheap that could work too.
its real simple to mod with the right tools.
I hope that this picture explains what you have to do.

on the left stud, i didn't wanted to cut all the way but since my buddy did it for me i cant complaint.
on the downpipe side, i have to add about 1 inch to have enough space between the crankcase and the downpipe, and its mostly because i'm using a 3 inch one. i'm pretty sure that there is more room to play with a factory evo downpipe.
i know is kinda ghetto, but i wanted to do something else without breaking the bank. lol
the turbo is expensive if you buy it new but since most evo's end up modded, most of the time the stock turbos are barely used and are sold cheap on ebay.
the turbo i paid $150 (thanks to a buddy that hooked me up fing02.gif )
manifold $115
O2 housing $65
downpipe $75
total of $405
i knnow, i know, i'm a cheap bastard. lmao.gif

^^^ thats very true. mani, turbo and dp is barely the tip of the iceberg.
so far i'm almost at the $2k mark in parts. and i'm still missing the fittings and braided lines. thats like $250 - $300 easy.

just an FYI. braided lines and such really are not needed AT ALL.
the lines i use in my FPR kits standard aren't braided or anything and are really nice lines.
you can get all the lines/fittings, FPR gauge, for under 200$.
the lines i use are pressure rated to 250psi

1) Are you sure that's a REAL Mitsu 16G from an EVO? There are a TON of knock offs out there, some good and some bad. 2) It looks like not a single mounting hole lines up with the Hyundai gasket. How are you able to make sure the manifold is centered over the exhaust ports? I'd be really curious to see what kind of EGT numbers you get from that manifold. If you can't make sure the ports are 100% lined up then you will generate excess back pressure which will raise you EGTs up quite a bit and create excess turbo lag. How do I know this? Well even on my excellent but expensive Maintec Race Manifold the ports were not 100% perfect. Matching everything up dropped my EGTs by 200 degrees.
