Let me give you guys some background real quick. I shipped my US Spec 2001 tiburon over to Korea and I'm swaping out my Alpine kit with a custom fabricated kit. The most important thing happening is I'll be the first official person to test out the "Korean ECU swap kit." Essentially it will make my car a Korean spec car with the option of plugging my US spec ECU and stock injectors to pass stateside emissions. This basically opens me up to all the tuning options that Korea has to offer. In a couple days I'll be running:

GK 16bit Siemens ECU
440cc injectors
Turbonetics t3/t04 turbo
Turbonetics Evolution wastegate
EVO 8 intercooler
2bar MAP/temp sensor
2.5 IC piping
2.5 turboback exhaust w/racing cat.
Turbo head gasket
DTM extreme clutch

I'm expected to run 300+whp on premium fuel at 15lbs of boost. The 16bit siemens ECU is a complete turbo solution for our cars not some half-a$$ piggyback system. This system will cost significantly less than a stand alone ECU and have minimal wiring.

I know this is the setup that I've been waiting for, how many others would like this setup?

Yes, the idea would be to send a list of parts you're running so we could customize your ECU to your individual setup. ie. injector size, turbo size, intercooler size, intercooler piping diameter, lbs. of boost, etc...

Sounds good, but what we really need is a way we can tune our ecu's ourselves or by our own dyno tunners, that would be best.

Sounds like one of the things we really need Airborne.

Tell me, is this going to be plug and play? Or will we need to swap engine wiring harnesses?

Also, PM me when you get a chance...

Yes, this will be 99% plug and play. The swap uses our existing US spec engine harness with the addition of a map/temp sensor -which will require minimal wiring. The dual map/temp sensor will be mounted to the intake manifold to get exact readings that turbo cars NEED. This kit should be easier to install than a piggyback.

I will have to look into tuning options and get back with you Supry.

Wow.

Sounds good.

AND we can get rid of the restriction known as the MAF.

How do you mount the MAP? Get a KDM IM?

What I'm thinking of is how we will have to uninstall all of this to do emissions every 2 years.

The ECU in itself rocks, but the inability to tune the ECU as you wish renders it kinda useless, for me at least. I'm running 2 different maps on the SMT6, one for day to day driving, and one for the track (or when I'm getting REALLY serious wink1.gif). Everybody who has a custom turbo setup KNOWS that once you begin, you can't stop; you want to up the boost everytime you get in the car. And most do, thus the need to be able to tune the ecu.
