Spent the majority of the day at the garage yesterday doing a dyno and street tune. I have the boost set to 20 PSI right now and it is handling like a dream. Here is the dyno sheet. Run 9 is with a 10.4 AF he leaned it out to 11.2-11.4 where we saw a gain of 17.5hp and it smoothed it all out. At 6k the AF richens back up which is fine for me, I typically don't get it up there that often. Viper had run it at 25 PSI but that was with a shop loaned methanol kit.

Congrats on the new car purchase.

and congrats on 347WHP

But the #'s seem to be abit low for the setup.

Ported Head,
Air Ram with BBTB
Tubular Manifold
3" Exhaust
GT35 with .82 a/r @20 PSI
Haltech

I would think the #'s would be closer to 400WHP

What type of dyno did you run on?
What were your intake temp? What type or Intercooler are you using?

How does your timing map look?

the timing is fairly conservative, as i tuned it on the way down to deliver it to him for winterblend of gas and the hotter weather in florida, Mike was happy with 350WHP and when didnt reall want to go for more at this time

The gt35r is out of its efficency range at 20psi, its just getting into it, from 20-24psi you can expect another 80-90 WHP, at 35psi another 200WHP, thats just the way it works with that turbo

The timing coould have been advanced more and the fuel could have been pulled back, but for what mike is doing with it right now (daily driving) it doesnt seem worth it, the car still gets 25-29 MPG highway (i got 261 miles on 9.4 gallons on a tank on the way down)

I told him i will continue to work with him to get the rest of the power out if he wants, but he is content for the time being, and i dont blame him its hard to go from 112 to the wheels in his 98 to 347 in the new car, it does take some getting used to time

i never thought i would be like this about the car, but watching that video my stomach was like blegh.... i really ought to come down there and crank the boost as soon as the summer rolls around, it would give me a great excuse to go there

If you want to come down that would be awesome. I am sure your girlfriend would love the beaches around here.

I know about the efficency range of the new GT30 and up series turbo's as I am running a GT3071R. But thanks for the info lmao.gif

Java you should get a good tuner to tune the Haltech on a Dyno or Road. Should be getting alot more power with that setup.

You may know about it but not everyone else does. As far as the tuning that's the problem with this area, no one is familiar with Haltechs. The guy who did this had never used a Haltech before and was pretty impressed with it. He is actually downloading the software and manual so he can learn it better.

I would love to be able to make it but honestly I could not see myself driving up there in the Tib. If I am up there at the time I would be in my Santa Fe because my family will be with me. Do you have any plans on attengin NOPI nationals? In November there is an Import drag competition in Montgomery Alabama. I plan on going to that as well.

ya sure about that, cuz u really dont seem to be an "expert" with all the questions you have asked me in the past....

and if you KNEW that, then why did you even ask?

java, we will talk this summer about me coming down there to kick up the boost

BTW you can tow a tib with the sante fe....

^^^^

I don't claim to be no "expert". And for the questions I asked you in the PAST.... lmao.gif

I guess. I was just hoping see JAVA put down 500WHP and Run 10's like you stated the car would do back in the past....

What a great Boosted Hyundai Community @ Rdtiburon lmao.gif

Bah! Enough of the friggin bickering. I am sure this car will put down 500 hp, after all thats only another 150 to go from where I am. As of now I (me, mike, javageek) am not comfortable driving a car around with 500 hp. Another factor in the situation is at any time my wife could possibly need to use the car, do you think I want her driving around with a 500hp car? Have I complained one bit about only having 350hp? I don't think so, in fact I told Redz verbally when I called him that the car is fast and I would be scared to have it at 500 right now. tongue.gif
