has anyone tried using the spot in the middle front of our engines for oil. It can plainly be seen in this photo from my oil disaster thread.

I thought about hooking up my oil pressure sender here to see what kind of pressure is being supplied (anyone know schematics? would it be the same at the port everyone uses at the right end of the motor? I know the oil pressure there is being reduced but I don't know where the restrictor is at.

The oil pressure sender that can be seen in front of the motor( while looking at the engine in the car) psi is around 60psi, the oil on the side of the head that every uses for the turbo is about 20psi.

/\ Thats not what hes talking about, hes talking about the bolt thats on the head just above the middle of the exhaust manifold.

and yes you can use that, i would have used it myself but i drilled open the side of the head before i denis posted that you could use it, he said you need a 1/8 bsp to 1/8 npt adaptor

And the pressure would be the same as the other spot on the head.

yes, you can use that spot, but you will need a BPT fitting, that i believe deniss99 found on the autometer site.. that was going to be my first choice for the feed line also.

All the fittings on the head and the oil pressure sending unit are all in BSP, if you have a NPT in there you don't have the correct fitting. All of my oil lines included a adapter to go from 1/8 BSP to 1/8 NPT.

denis mentioned it there, thanks for the advice, now if they carry those at the hardware store or not...

edt: ^^I have oil lines from you tim, I'll check, who know I probably have one laying around and didn't know what it was for. npt vs. bsp must be very simliar because it went in easily and I've never had leaking.
